AARF's Kids N Kritters program held its first community outreach event at Flippen Elementary School in Henry County. The school invited AARF volunteers Jordan and Betsy to give a presentation as part of Career/Cultural Arts Week. Jordan demonstrated various animal behaviors and the appropriate reactions to avoid dog bites, while Betsy held up display boards of dogs exhibiting those behaviors. They summed up the safety tips by reading several different safe or unsafe scenarios about dogs, and the kids responded with their answers by holding up the letters "S" (safe) or "U" (unsafe). The kids had their own stories to tell about their pets and lots of good questions!
