CHS JHS Off to a Great Start for 2008-09

The Campbell High School Junior Humane Society is off to a fantastic start this school year! Nearly 40 people attended the group's first meeting (more than the classroom would hold!), and JHS leader Brye hopes even more members will attend the next meeting. The group is planning many exciting projects for the school year, including fundraisers for homeless pets, field trips to animal shelters and education presentations for younger students.

Doing the Right Thing for Strays

AARF would like to send a special thank-you out to Marietta High School student Brian Rambo and two of his friends, who were spotted by an AARF volunteer as they rescued two dogs from a busy road near Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta. The teens stopped their truck, gently wrangled the wandering golden retriever and his smaller companion, and later located the dogs' owners, returning them home safely. With all the scary things that can happen to pets on the loose, these two were very fortunate to have been picked up by Brian and his friends. To learn what to do if you spot a stray, click here.
